The rains still make their presence felt throughout Luzon, as does the heat. Temperatures can reach 30° – 35°C (86° – 95°F) with humid weather, but it is still possible to have a holiday here. In low-lying areas like Manila, it can also get very warm and sticky during nights. The rainfall keeps decreasing throughout the month, with clearer skies closer to November. Places at higher altitudes, like Sagada and Baguio, experience decreasing cloud cover and rainfall and increasing temperatures. October is a great month to visit the rice terraces at Banaue and Batad, where you can enjoy the remnant greener in clearer conditions.
Whereas diving is concerned, the conditions start getting much better this month. The visibility in the water starts to get clearer and October end is the start of the diving season. Touristy places like El Nido, Puerto Princesa and Boracay, have lower chances of rainfall as the month goes on. The skies start to get clearer and it also starts to get really warm. Temperatures hit 30° – 35°C (86° – 95°F) on some days. The number of tourists at these places increases towards the end of the month and they’re only going to get larger with the approaching winter season.
Places like Cebu, Bohol, Malapascua, Dumaguete, and Siquijor are much drier as compared to Luzon. You can expect clear conditions with occasional short showers. It’s also great to dive in areas like El Nido and Boracay towards the end of October.
